Alessio Muscará, Director, leads the Core PM SMA Team in Princeton for Active SMA Solutions within BlackRock’s U.S. Wealth Advisory business. He oversees the end-to-end implementation of Tax-Exempt, Taxable, and Multi-Asset separately managed accounts (SMAs), driving scale, operational excellence, and high-quality client experience across both high-scale and high-touch solutions. In addition, Alessio is responsible for overseeing BlackRock’s model distribution efforts, partnering with internal stakeholders to support commercial execution and client adoption. He collaborates closely with cross-functional partners to originate and deliver product development initiatives, trading enhancements, and process improvements that strengthen platform capabilities, accelerate time to implementation, and improve efficiency. His role also includes developing and executing strategies to grow and retain SMA assets.
Alessio joined BlackRock through the merger with Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (MLIM) in 2006. Prior to his current role, he served as a Portfolio Manager delivering customized investment solutions to high net worth and institutional clients, managing Taxable and Tax-Exempt portfolios for the Midwest region across individual investors, foundations, and small institutions. Earlier in his career, he was an Associate Portfolio Manager in Jacksonville, Florida, responsible for Fixed Income and Equity/Balanced accounts, and began at MLIM as a Portfolio Specialist on the Fixed Income Managed Account Team, trading Intermediate and Low Duration portfolios. He started his career in 2002 as a Financial Advisor at RBC Dain Rauscher, focusing on municipal bond portfolio construction for high-net-worth clients.
Alessio earned a B.A. in Finance with High Honors from Seton Hall University (2002) and a Master’s in Public Administration from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (2006).
